The safety-critical water pumps and generators by Eureka provide an end-to-end solution for some of the world’s largest oil & gas players.

INTRODUCTION

Norwegian pump supplier, Eureka Pumps, has been able to utilise its strong pull in the oil & gas industry to expand geographically in 2015, starting with a brand new service facility in Hammerfest, which opened in April.

Supported by an eight-part ‘Decision Gate’, the Company ensures an end-to-end solution is in place to guide contractors through the planning and execution phases of any project, right up to the client take-over.

With more than 35 years of experience in the oil & gas sector, Eureka Pumps is a market leader among companies operating on the Norwegian continental shelf. In addition to its head office in Oslo, the Company is able to guarantee timely delivery of safety-critical water pumps and generator sets through strategic placement of branch offices along the Norwegian coast; with additional offices in St. Johns, Houston, Busan, Kuala Lumpur and Perth to grow its international footprint.

Proud to have already delivered more than 150 fire water pump systems to the offshore oil & gas industry, the Company is also responsible for the supply and maintenance of each device, and optional upgrading, modification, equipment testing, installation and commissioning services.

Eureka Pumps represent well-recognised pump manufacturers in the Norwegian market and the surrounding areas. “In combination with the Eureka and the EPTEC ranges, we are a total pump supplier for the domestic market and cover all pump applications on upstream oil & gas installations,” the Company detailed.

ALIGN GROUP OF COMPANIES

As one of the five companies comprising the ALIGN Group – a leading supplier of process-critical equipment and safety-critical products and solutions – Eureka Pumps is able to leverage years of vast industry knowledge and experience from a name synonymous for bringing quality products to the oil & gas industry.

Owned by Converto Capital and Hitec Vision, ALIGN is a supplier of technical safety and total firefighting solutions for the global oil & gas industry. Its market-leading brands provide expertise in safety automation, pump systems and fire fighting technology. The Group is a result of the demerger of Bjørge A/S, which was carried out in December 2010.

The Group further explained: “ALIGN services aim to maintain continuous oil & gas production, a perspective that safeguards optimal operations and lower life-cycle costs.

“Through our integrated businesses, we manage international greenfield and brownfield projects, covering the whole process from study through to engineering, procurement, assembly, installation, commissioning and documentation.

“Our market leading brands, Eureka Pumps, Fire Protection Engineering, Sontum Fire and Safety and Origo Solutions, provide the resources to cover every major discipline in the global technical safety and total firefighting solutions chain.”

Equipped with the necessary tools for HSE, QA, planning and project monitoring, ALIGN’s closely integrated brands, including Eureka Pumps, serve to reduce the number of costly and complicated interfaces for clients by providing an end-to-end solution from a name you can trust.

HAMMERFEST SERVICE WORKSHOP

In April of this year, Eureka Pumps opened a brand new service facility in Hammerfest municipality, Norway. The workshop is fully-equipped with the latest tools, machines, trucks and cranes with a safe working load (SWL) of up to 10 tonnes. It also comprises balancing, welding and grinding facilities together with lathe, milling and drilling machines.

“Establishing ourselves in Hammerfest is a result of the Frame Agreement awarded from ENI Norge A/S on the Goliat FPSO which will arrive to Rypefjord outside Hammerfest medio April. In addition, we will use our existing Frame Agreement with Statoil on the Snøhvit LNG plant at Melkøya in Hammerfest. Both agreements comprise service and repairs of pumps and rotating equipment, onshore and offshore service, spare parts, training, modifications and upgrades,” said the Company.

Ole Fredik Randgaard has taken up the position as the Eureka Site Manager in Hammerfest and has extensive experience with the Company, previously holding the position as Workshop Manager at the assembly and test facility in Sørumsand.

Accompanying the Decision Gate strategy is a safety-conscious attitude that runs throughout the delivery, operation and maintenance through to production of Eureka’s safety-critical solutions.

“At Eureka we strive to lead in the invention, development, production and services of the industry`s most advanced pumping systems for large offshore installations. We translate these advanced pumping systems into value for our customers through our professional solutions and services,” highlighted the Company.

In line with its comprehensive service offerings, Eureka has implemented a zero injury philosophy as part of its continuous improvement strategy, and this philosophy holds a central position in all work carried out by the Group; representing both a goal to strive for and a new way of thinking as the Company explained: “There is no work so urgent that it cannot be carried out in a safe manner. Our strategy involves a search for methods, systems, technology and competence that enable us to run our activity without inflicting injury to ourselves or others and without loss of human life, or damage to the environment.”

With proven experience in fire protection for all offshore and onshore applications, a track record for enforcing some of the best safety practices in the industry – all accomplished alongside partnerships with some of the world’s biggest oil & gas players – Eureka Pumps is well positioned to grow its service offering and build on its reputation as a leader in safety-critical solutions.
